Hi everyone! My name is Magdalena Bentia and I will be working as a Writing and Communication Peer Tutor at the Writing Centre.Ìý I am currently in my third year of completing an Honours Biology degree along with a minor in Medical Physiology. During this spring term I will be assisting with drop-in sessions and one-on-one appointments across campus. Teaching and working towards continuous improvement is something I am passionate about and I am looking forward to working with students looking for help with academic writing!

Through working and volunteering on campus I have been able to learn and appreciate the tremendous amount of resources available to students and staff. My time as a Science Orientation Leader and Science Open House volunteer gave me the opportunity to connect with students first hand and communicate about life on campus. I also volunteer with the which is a club on campus that supports families of children within À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ with chronic illnesses through fundraising events. These experiences have shown me the variety of outreach programs that the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ has to offer.

Upon completing the Fundamentals of University Teaching at the Centre for Teaching Excellence I became fascinated with different styles of teaching and how to adapt to suit the needs of the student. It was because of this that I became involved in a working group to improve accessibility in teaching on campus.

I am looking forward to working with students to assist them in the writing process and improving my own teaching methods along the way as well!
