Employment letters are available within Workday for individuals with regular, casual, temporary, or definite-term appointments. This provides the real-time employment information required to support items such as financing, OHIP enrollments, work permit applications, etc. The instructions below will guide you through how to access your personal employment (reference letter).
Submit the letter request
- In the Workday search bar, start typing request reference letter andclick the Request Reference Letter task that comes up.

- Click in the empty Reference Letter field and select Employment Letter to choose a letter type from the available options.

- Click Submit at the bottom of the screen. Â
Preview the letter
- Navigate to your Workday inbox by clicking the inbox icon at the top right of the Workday screen.

- Select the Request Reference Letter inbox action item to preview the generated letter by clicking the PDF link in the message body.
- If the information generated is accurate, click the I Agree check box.

- Click Submit.
Access the saved employment letter
- Click the menu navigation bar at the top left of the screen to select the Personal Information application.Ìý

- From the View menu option on the right, select Worker Documents.
Tip: Click "More" at the bottom if Worker Documents is not displayed in the menu options.

- The employment letter will be found under the Reviewed Documents section at the bottom of the screen.
