Submit vacation or absence requests

  1. On the Workday homepage, click View All Apps to go to Absence under Personal.

  1. Click Request Absenceunder the Request section to display the absence calendar.

  1. Click on the day(s) you wish to take time off or click and drag to select multiple days. The selected days will appear with a blue circle around the date number.

  1. Click Select Date Range on the top left to enter an extended date range (Optional). This is useful when entering an absence request that might extend into a different month or over a long period.
  2. Click Request Absence and the number of days you requested will display on the button to confirm your request.
  3. Select the Type of absence requested. Your options will include only absence types available to you.

Note: The question mark is available to assist you through this process. Click on Show Me to review the help text to complete your request.

  1. Click Next and the Quantity per Day will default to your daily scheduled hours. 
  2. To change the number of hours for your time off, click Edit Quantity per Day to enter the desired number of hours and any needed comments. You can also update all quantities to the same amount, enter the desired amount in the Update all Quantities field. (Optional)
  3. Click Done.
  4. Attach any supporting documents by dragging them to the Attachments field or clicking Select files.
  5. Click Submit. You can view the status of your request at any time by returning to the My Absence report.
