The 8th International Conference on Water Resources and Environment Research (ICWRER 2019) will take place at Hohai University in Nanjing, China, from June 14th to 18th, 2019. Hohai University, one of China’s leading universities in water and the environment, is located in beautiful Nanjing, one of China’s ancient walled capital cities, situated along the mighty Yangtze River.
The Water Institute, together withÌýthe Canadian Journal of Soil Science, is pleased to sponsor the 2018 Joint Meeting of the Canadian Geophysical Union, Canadian Soil Science Society, Computational Infrastructure in Geodynamics, Eastern Section of the Seismological Society of America & the Canadian Society for Agricultural and Forest Meteorology.
Specifically, the Water Institute has sponsored the Sunday night public lectureÌý"Niagara Falls - Behind the Scenes of the Natural Wonder" by Aaron Thomson, Canadian Co-Chair of the International Niagara Board of Control.

3 Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations
°Õ³ó±ðÌýÌýwill welcome academics, thinkers and practitioners from around the world to present, discuss and highlight key issues and directions for change from scientific and policy perspectives, including data needs and how data can be acquired, successful public and private sector business models in different settings, political opportunities and obstacles, what the expressed human needs are, and where the knowledge gaps exist.
McMaster Water Week is a celebration of water and water-related research at McMaster University. The McMaster Water Network is organizing several events throughout the week including a keynote lecture, documentary screening, career night, and a student research showcase. All events are free and open to the public.Ìý

Hosted by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the 2017 Adrian Smith Lecture will feature professor Alfonso Mucci from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at McGill University. He will be presenting, "Development of hypoxic and acidified bottom waters in the Lower St. Lawrence Estuary and its impact on sediment biogeochemistry."
