Jacqui Mason

Jacqui Mason (They/Them) is a co-op student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, studying a major in Fine Arts, Studio Practice and minoring in Religious Studies. They frequently use a variety of materials in their process, prioritizing painting as a beginning medium. They also conceptually explore themes of grief, loss, and its connections to the metaphysical, using their interest in family histories, research, and material significance as starting points in the creative process. They are very exited to be a part of S.A.I.L again and is looking forward to creating beautiful work with other creatives and the community!
Paige Smith

Paige Smith (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist who recently completed her Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Her artwork investigates felt experiences of being othered through moving-image, installation, performance, and print material. Originally from Vancouver, Paige has a variety of experience teaching art, including as a fine arts sessional lecturer with the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, and as a workshop instructor in Vancouver at the Contemporary Art Gallery and VIVO Media Arts Centre.
Merna Gallo

Merna Gallo (she/her) is a major in Fine Arts, Studio practice and primarily focuses on familial concepts, emotions, and relationships that stem from personal experiences endured from childhood to present day within her artistic practice. She likes to use photography and/or archival images and materials as a tool to create sculpture, video, or installation pieces which she hopes result in meaningful, beautiful, and potentially relatable artwork to the viewer. Art to Merna is a fascinating outlet to express oneself! She is so happy to share what she’s learned this far with SAIL this summer!
