How I get involved:ÌýI’m deeply involved in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s campus life through various academic, outreach, and extracurricular activities. I’ve been a lab research assistant in two biology labs, assisting with ongoing research projects. For a year, I served as Co-President of the Microbiology research club (@uw_watsam). This role was incredibly rewarding as I organized events and fostered a collaborative research community. As a Science Outreach volunteer, I get to demonstrate cool engaging science experiments to students of all ages at their schools! Additionally, I’ve been an Orientation Leader three times! (2022, 2024, and 2025). Where I welcomed first-year students and helped them settle into university life. Since 2023, I’ve been a Science Ambassador. Where I lead campus tours, host shadow days, answer prospective students' questions through Warrior Chats, and writing welcome cards to incoming students. I’m now a Team Lead for the Biology Science Ambassadors, where I represent the Faculty of Science and Department of Biology at the Ontario Universities’ Fair and Open Houses. Recently, I’ve also taken on the role of a Teaching Assistant within Microbiology, providing one-on-one support with fundamental microbiology experiments and techniques! Outside of academics, I’m passionate about running and I am a member of the Running and Marathon Club through Warriors Athletics!
Why I love my program
I love my Honours Biology with Bioinformatics Option program at UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ because it offers such a wide variety of courses, giving me the chance to explore many areas of science. The instructors are knowledgeable and passionate, making every lecture engaging and informative. I’ve also met wonderful friends through the program, which has made my time at university even more memorable. Beyond the classroom, there are countless opportunities for Science students, from research projects to co-op experiences, that allow me to apply what I’ve learned and grow as a student and future professional!
