The European Geosciences Union (EGU), the leading organization for Earth, planetary and space science research in Europe, has awarded the Jim Dooge Award to Water Institute member Juliane (Julie) Mai, Research Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. 

Philippe Van Cappellen, professor in the Earth and Environmental Sciences department and Canada Excellence Research Chair Laureate in Ecohydrology, has been appointed a University Professor by the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. 

Along with three other colleagues from across the University, Brenda Lee, continuing lecturer in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, has been awarded the 2024 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) from the Centre for Teaching Excellence on campus. 

Adam Wei Tsen, professor in the Department of Chemistry and at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), is the recipient of the 2024 Dorothy Killam Fellowship.

Dr. Scott Taylor has been awarded the Bernard Belleau Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada for his numerous and important contributions to medicinal chemistry. Taylor is a world leader in the study of an important class of antibacterial drugs known as the calcium-dependent lipopeptide antibiotics (CDAs).

Earth and Environmental Sciences professor David Rudolph has been recognized with an Excellence in Graduate Supervision Award, along with two other faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics.  

Maurice Dusseault believes in supporting the next generation of geologists and engineers, especially those facing challenging circumstances.
