Explore the night sky with astronomers from the Faculty of Science and Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. The Perseids meteor shower will be at its most spectacular, so let's gather to learn something and then enjoy the view! We will meet first at 7:30pm in the nearby Optometry building for a short lecture by the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Centre for Astrophysics' Dr. Roan Haggar: "Meet the cosmic neighbours: planets, comets, and aliens?"

°Õ³ó±ðÌýDepartment of Physics and Astronomy is hosting students in Grades 7 and 8 on campus in-person on November 11th for free hands-on activity workshops, inspiring talks, and a panel discussion, to encourage and engage girls and non-binary students to explore physics.

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Dr. Patricia Chow-Fraser, Professor, Department of Biology, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, will present: Déjà vu or Jamais vu?  Using a 20-y record to discern how coastal wetlands of eastern and northern Georgian Bay respond to climate-induced water-level disturbances.

At September's WCA-KPL astronomy talk, Dr. Marco Bonici will discuss how a new tool -- Artificial Intelligence -- is helping cosmologists to understand the data collected from telescopes, and answer the fundamental questions about the cosmos.
