In order to access and use the equipment in the Science Resource Shop (SRS), users must complete the required safety training courses includingÌýÌýWHMIS 2015 (SO2017) andÌýScience Resource Shop Orientation courses on Ìý
The SRS Safety Orientation course is accessed by logging in toÌýÌýand selecting Self Registration from the menu at the top of the page. Then select and enroll in the course labelled Science Resource Shop OrientationÌýand WHMIS 2015 (SO2017).
- BeforeÌýstarting a project,Ìýusers must takeÌýan introductory machining safety course with theÌýShop Technician on the equipment that will be used.
Only closed toed practical footwear may be worn in the shop at any time.
The Shop Technician provides consultation toÌýusers on their projects and helps with machining, soldering, brazing,Ìýetc.
TheÌýshop's inventory of tools includes: milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saw, waterjet, 3d printers and various hand tools.
