Mapping out the Global Innovation Landscape
On November 21st, 2024, the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµâ€™s À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ International office convened a conference called Mapping Out the Global Innovation Landscape and focused on the Indo-Pacific region.i The Indo-Pacific comprises 40 countries and economies: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, the Pacific Island Countries (14), Pakistan, People’s Republic of China (PRC), the< Philippines, Republic of Korea (ROK), Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam.
In November 2022 Canada announced its Indo-Pacific Strategy providing a framework to cultivate and build key relationships in the Indo-Pacific region to address joint priorities. Building on these efforts, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ International’s conference aimed to identify and explore Canada’s opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region within emerging and disruptive technology sectors.
