As of Fall 2025, all Religious Studies programs will be renamed Religion, Culture, and Spirituality. Courses will no longer have the “RS” subject code but will have an “RCS” subject code.

The Faculty of Arts is undergoing a change to the Arts Breadth Requirements. Starting in Fall 2025, Religious Studies (RS) courses will be changing to Religion, Culture, and Spirituality (RCS) courses, and will be changing categories within the Arts Breadth Requirements.

Taking us from colonial New Spain to Ancient Greece to contemporary opera, undergraduate students from culture-related programs presented their research at the second annual Culture Fest, an initiative designed to celebrate outstanding student work and make connections across programs and disciplines. 

Congratulations to Carmen Celestini on her new book (co-authored by Ahmed Al-Rawi, Nicole K. Stewart, Joseph M.Nicolaï, Nathan Worku) entitled "The Canadian Far-Right and Conspiracy Theories".

On November 8, 2024, the Department of Religious Studies held a scholarly discussion on "The 2024 US Presidential Election: A Nation Divided?” with Andrew Hunt, Veronica Kitchen, Carmen Celestini and Scott Kline.⁣⁣⁣

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, the Religious Studies department held a student event. 
An opportunity for students and professors connected to the program to get to know each other. More than twenty people came out for pizza and great conversation!
