This is not an exhaustive list and focuses primarily on opportunities available to postdocs in any field or discipline. In your search for postdoc funding, we encourage you to also explore opportunities that may be available specifically for your field or, for international postdocs, opportunities that may be available from foundations or agencies within your home country.ÌýÂ
MITACS funding
is a national not-for-profit organization that works with institutions, companies, and the federal and provincial governments to promote and support innovation.
Postdoctoral opportunities available through Mitacs include the following programs: Accelerate, Accelerate International, Elevate, and Globalink Research Award. Tri-Agency funding
Postdoctoral fellowships are available through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Â
Effective September 1, 2024, the federal government has announced that all tri-agency postdoctoral fellowships will increase in value to $70,000 per year. Once each agency has updated the information on their respective website, the below content will be updated to reflect this change.
In addition to the tri-agency fellowship funding, the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ also provides extended health benefits to all tri-agency postdocs, paid for by the University.
