Workshop on Canada and the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons
Project Ploughshares is hosting a free virtual workshop on Canada and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear WeaponsÌý(TPNW) and nuclear disarmament. On November 10,Ìý7 pm to 8:30 pm, Balsillie School of International Affairs invites you to attend this speaker event. There will be two speakers both exploring the idea of identity, Indigeneity, and exploring the difficult question of "Who do you think you are, and who gets to decide?"

The International Peace Research Association (IPRA) invites your proposals for its 29th biennial conference, held in Trinidad and Tobago inÌýmid-May, 2023.Ìý
The conference theme is "Rooted Futures: Visions of Peace and Justice" aims to bring academics, activists and artists together to reflect past, present, and future of peace and justice praxis.Ìý
TheÌýdeadline for proposals is November 15, 2022,Ìýand those who are selected will be announced towards the end of December, 2022.
Senior PACS students, especially those in PACS 401, are encouraged to apply.

Volunteer: Food Access at the Working Centre St. John's Kitchen

Join in a community service learning day with theÌý! The Working Centre is an extensive non-profit in KW with a wide range of projects seeking to respond to unemployment and poverty in downtown Kitchener.
We will gather at SJU in the morning (8:30am) to take the ION together to downtown Kitchener. We will participate in portioning out meals and distributing them to people who are experiencing homelessness, risk of homelessness, or street involved. There will also be time to reflect on the experience together.

The PACSÌýinternship allows you to engage in experiential learning with an organization that works on peace and conflict issues, in either a Canadian or international context. The course integrates theory and practice while facilitating the development of attitudes, strategies, skills, and knowledge that support work in a Peace and Conflict Studies related setting.
