The School of Optometry & Vision Science in the Faculty of Science at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time probationary position in the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor, Teaching Stream in the areas of Binocular Vision (BV)/Vision Therapy (VT)/Vision Rehabilitation. The À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Eye Institute - Optometry Clinics include primary care and specialty clinics that encompass the full spectrum of the contemporary practice of optometry. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and ability in teaching, clinical education, patient care, and the profession of optometry.
The successful candidate will have completed a residency that includes Vision Therapy/Vision Rehabilitation or have 3 or more years of relevant clinical experience. The expectation is to grow the WEI’s clinical capacity and student education with a demonstrated passion for teaching, clinical education, patient care, and the profession of optometry. Assignments will include evenings, after-hours on-call services, and some Saturday clinics.
The range of duties includes intern supervision, resident supervision, and direct patient care. Teaching- stream faculty are expected to participate in activities that contribute to the effective functioning of the School such as administrative duties and service on committees.
Applicants should be eligible for a general or an academic certificate of registration with the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Applicants would ideally be available to start by September 2025.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarship and teaching, and develop a robust, externally funded research program that supports a diversity of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Evidence of an actively developing research program is required. Preference will be given to investigators whose expertise is complementary to research in the School.

The ability to develop and teach an array of traditional in-person and on-line courses for a diverse student body is expected. The interdisciplinary position will include development of , data science, and artificial intelligence applications from eye health datasets to identify disease patterns, progression, and therapeutic opportunities.
