Open Content

- This guide describes in plain language the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) legislation for Accessible Websites and Web Content, which is based on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) at Level AA. Although primarily intended for developers and course design staff who work with instructors and faculty to create online courses, the material can be used by anyone interested in making their online course websites accessible. The site has been shared openly thanks to some generous funding fromÌý.

- Kultur360 is an independent webspace producing original content and analysis about contemporary society and culture in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Founded in 2014 by a group of Canadian academics, kultur360 seeks to bring accessible research, information, and opinion about central Europe to an English-speaking audience.

- An open access research webspace and open educational material repository for German Studies has launched. This site, developed by James Skidmore, Associate Professor and Director of the À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Centre for German Studies at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, is an exploration of how open education would work in a humanities/liberal arts field. It was one of several funded by eCampus Ontario.

- A collaborative effort between the McMaster University Department of Family Medicine and Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ School of Pharmacy, TransEd is an online learning module targeted at providing post-secondary healthcare students with tools to improve comfort and competence in transgender care

– The UXDL honeycomb site, based on Peter Morville’s work, was designed and developed by the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýCentre for Extended Learning. The honeycomb site contains principles and examples illustrating how to create valuable online learning experiences for students. The site has been enhanced thanks to some generous funding fromÌý.

- is a collaborative initiative between the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University and was developed for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) as part of the Ontario Online initiative. Guides for writing case study reports, lab reports, and reflective essays introduce students to the particularities of these genres, provide practical strategies for students to try in their own writing, and uses model texts to help students better understand the organization, format, and language used in each of these types of writing.
