Research by PhD student Brok Laschowski was featured on BBC. Brok and colleagues are developing new deep learning models for visual intelligence, modelling the visual information processing neural networks in the brain. These brain-inspired algorithms are used for environment-adaptive control of robotic systems.
For more information, see their recent journal paper, "," published in Frontiers in Neurorobotics.
This research is in collaboration with PhD student William McNally and Dr. Alexander Wong, Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Medical Imaging, and supervised by Dr. John McPhee, Canada Research Chair in Biomechatronic System Dynamics.
