An MME professor was among the recipients of funding from the  provided by the Government of Ontario to support researchers investigating innovative solutions that benefit Ontario’s communities and workers.  

Dr. Yimin Wu’s research focuses on energy demand and climate change with the invention of artificial leaves. These artificial leaves imitate photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide into sustainable fuels. By researching the role of structural defects in these materials and integration and reactive carbon capture and conversion, the goal of this work is to support carbon-neutral energy technology and improve efficiencies.
