A research project that may significantly boost clean biofuel production in Canada is amongÌýthree À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ EngineeringÌýinitiatives to receiveÌýfunding from theÌýNatural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
Norman Zhou ofÌýmechanical and mechatronics engineering andÌýMark Servos of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ's biology department will receive almost $492,000 to investigate theÌýremoval of drinking water contaminants with innovativeÌýnanowire membranes. AndÌýWeihua Zhuang of electrical and computer engineering will receive $558,000 to developÌýlower power consumption in existing wireless communication networks by improving their efficiency.
