The symposium will be held online this year using the Microsoft Teams group-chat platform.Ìý

Our students are eagerly anticipating this symposium as the opportunity to finallyÌýdemonstrateÌýthe results of their innovation and expertise. Each team will be evaluated based on theirÌýability to explain their project.

Come join us virtually on Wednesday April 7th and witnessÌý10 finalist 4th-yearÌýCapstone teams from various engineering departments battle it out in the Norman Esch Pitch Competition for $60K in prize money to jumpstart their startup project.Ìý

Of the 10 finalistsÌýselected, 5 of them, an unprecedented majority,Ìýare from MME (2 MTE, 3ÌýME).ÌýEach team could take home one of six $10,000 prizes - yes, MME could clean sweep the finals by winning five of the six awards!

Now available to all À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering departments, the Palihapitiya/Lau Venture Creation Fund provides two $50,000 awards to University-selected Capstone Design teams whose intention is to transform their Capstone Design project into a promising startup post-graduation.Ìý

UPDATE: °Õ³ó±ðÌýMechatronics Engineering Capstone Design Symposium will not be run as a physical event this year.

In order to mitigate the risks associated with the possible spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the format of the Faculty of Engineering’s Capstone Design Symposia are being modified on a department by department basis. Students are asked to connect directly with their Capstone coordinator for the most current updates.
