Part of Canada's largest engineering school, the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering department at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ is home to 2,400 undergraduates, 400 graduate students, faculty and staff.

Student spotlight: MME PhD candidate receives prestigious welding and nanotechnology scholarships
Maryam Soleimani, a senior PhD candidate in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, has received three prestigious awards over the last few years: two CWB Foundation Graduate Scholarships and the Nanofellowship Award.Â
MME surgical robotics collaboration debuts at top international robotics conference
Team SERA, a new collaboration between the Active and Interactive Robotics (AIR) Lab and the Orthopaedic Mechatronics (ORTHOtron) lab, led by Jeffrey Lee (MASc Candidate), Teresa Marotta (MASc Candidate), Dr. Stewart McLachlin, and Dr. Yue Hu from the department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering has been established to combine the expertise of both labs for a new surgical robotics project for the international .
MME professors awarded grants from New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF)
Two professors within the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering have received funding from the federal government in an award that focuses on innovative and bold Canadian-led projects.Â
