About Master of Taxation

Message from the directors:

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s Master of Taxation program has established an outstanding reputation, providing what we believe to be the highest quality and most comprehensive education forum for the development of tax professionals in Canada.  Students acquire advanced academic and professional skills related to the field of taxation including communication and interpersonal skills, tax research, and professional advisory.  Graduates are well-rounded tax professionals well equipped for the continuous learning required and are professional business advisors.

Program learning outcomes are achieved through a vigorous academic curriculum which includes practice-oriented assignments, case-based learning, research papers, and program-level seminars.  Students participate in a wide breadth of advanced taxation courses in specialized topics taught by senior tax professionals and academics, ensuring they are well-prepared for careers in tax specialties including international tax, private companies, estate planning, tax accounting, and mergers and acquisitions.

The program offers professional work opportunities for full-time students which enhance academic learning and result in MTax graduates with strong professional skills upon graduation. The real-time virtual learning environment offering flexible completion options is available to part-time students.  Whether attending in-person in downtown Toronto or virtually, students gain the MTax Advantage—graduating as highly valued and experienced tax professionals in the Canadian tax community.

We welcome prospective students and employers to connect with us to explore how the MTax program can support professional growth and organizational success.
