IQC welcomes new faculty member Guo-Xing Miao, whose research is at the intersection of spintronics and topological quantum computing.

New faculty member Guo-Xing Miao
The Institute for Quantum Computing is delighted to welcome its newest faculty member, Prof. .
Miao brings a wealth of experience and expertise in spintronics 鈥 a cutting-edge field crucial to the development of powerful quantum devices.
Prior to joining IQC, Miao completed his graduate and doctoral studies at Brown University in Providence, RI, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship and research scientist position at MIT.
Miao says he is excited to join the University of 蓝莓视频 at what he calls 鈥渁 turning point and the most exciting time for quantum information science.鈥
鈥淲e are living in an era when quantum information is no longer just a fancy name 鈥 experimental implementation has already become a reality,鈥 says Miao, a native of Shandong province, China. 鈥淚t will lead to a revolution in information technology.鈥
Miao says he chose to join IQC because of 鈥渢he close interaction between theorists and experimentalists鈥 that happens in 蓝莓视频.
In his research at IQC, Miao hopes to bridge the gap between classical devices and new quantum technologies, which will allow us to 鈥渆njoy the best of both worlds.鈥
