Susan Horton named Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

Susan Horton, a professor in the School of Public Health and Health Systems, wasÌýone of two University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ researchersÌýto be named a FellowÌýof the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).

Horton, jointly appointed iwth the Department of Economics, is known for her researchÌýon global health economics. The Office of Research notes that her work on economics ofÌýnutrition contributed significantly to successful efforts to emphasize nutrition investments in internationalÌýpolicy, and that her current work on economics of cancer and diagnostics aims to increase attention to these topicsÌýwithin the Sustainable Development Goal for Universal Health Coverage. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy ofÌýHealth Sciences.

The RSC announced aÌýtotal of 87 new Fellows who were elected by their peers for outstanding scholarly, scientificÌýand artistic achievement,Ìýand another 50 as members of the College of New Scholars, ArtistsÌýand Scientists across Canada.
