Anchit Mishra

Karthik's interests lie in Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Haptic Computing and Wearables. He has industrial experience in developing and commercializing wearable technology products.

Karthik is a MMath student in Computer Science. His background is in software and game development, and is currently researching and working on a Virtual Reality Solution to supplement / provide an alternative for speech and language therapy.

Sahand Ajami

Sahand was an MASc student in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering under the supervision of Arash Arami and Oliver Schneider. His research was on the efficacy of cutaneous haptic feedback on the sense of embodiment and motor learning in upper-limb rehabilitation.

Ahmed was a Masters student in the Management Science department supervised by Oliver Schneider (graduated 2022). Previously, he completed his undergrad from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan with an interdisciplinary coursework in Management Science and Computer Science. He hopes to pursue research for improving haptic experience through data analytics.

Tor-Salve Dalsgaard

Tor-Salve (he/him) is interested in the experiences humans have when interacting with technology. As a PhD student, he studied haptic experiences through the lens of neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy -- and a little chemistry. Tor-Salve remains excited about all sorts of sensory input and what humans make of them.

Diana Khater

Alumni (Undergraduate Researcher)

Diana is interested in applications of haptics in medicine. She is a BSc graduate in Biology at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Her research focuses on hand receptors involved in the haptic experience. She hopes to build online simulations to help designers better design haptic products.

Erin Kim

Erin is currently completing her BA in Honours Psychology at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Her research within the lab focuses on exploring user interactions with haptic technology to identify and define the factors that create a positive Haptic Experience (HX).

Punit Kunjam

Punit was an MMath student in Computer Science with a strong background in game development and simulation. His passion lies in harnessing the power of AR/VR technologies to craft innovative immersive systems aimed at improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. Additionally, his commitment extends to the realm of healthcare where he's interested in the development of simulation-based surgical training systems that leverage robotics and mixed-reality technologies.

Aurora Liu is a PhD student in the Management Science and Engineering Department. Her background is Automation Engineering. She is interested in Human Computer Interaction.

Marco is a PhD student in Systems Design Engineering under the supervision of Professors Mark Hancock and Oliver Schneider at University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Previously, he completed a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering (2015) at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico, a postgraduate diploma in Automation and Robotics (2017) at Centennial College in Toronto, and an MASc in Systems Design Engineering at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.

Pelisha is interested in Human-computer interaction (HCI), user experience (UX) design, and software development. Her research focuses on how we can create and manage large collections of haptic content.

Suji is a Master's student in the Management Sciences Department. She is interested in data-driven product design and development. Her research is based on developing a tool to evaluate Haptics experience.

Oliver Schneider

Oliver Schneider (he/him) leads the Haptic Computing Lab as an Associate Professor at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, Department of Management Science and Engineering, with cross-appointments in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Systems Design Engineering, and the Cheriton School of Computer Science.
