Thanks to a partnership with Ziauddin Yousafzai, the father of 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, Global Peace Centre Canada (GPCC), and the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), Conrad Grebel University College is pleased to offer a $10,000 scholarship to a female Master of Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS) student.

This spring, ݮƵ Region elementary school students will be discovering something normal and radical all at once: peace and justice. Peace Camp, a peace education organization at Conrad Grebel University College, will facilitate peace-building and conflict resolution workshops with elementary school students for the third consecutive year. School participation numbers have increased each year, and in May and June alone, 121 classrooms will participate in Peace Camp workshops.

Musicians in ݮƵ Region have joined together to raise funds for earthquake victims in Nepal.

Under Grebel prof Mark Vuorinen's baton, the Grand Philharmonic Choir, together with many community partners (including Grebel students,) is organizing a free concert Sunday May 24th, 4 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 49 Queen St. N., Kitchener.

At the concert, audience members will be invited to donate to Mennonite Central Committee's Nepal earthquake relief fund. The federal government will match any donations made at the concert.

Grebel Renews Presidential Term

After its April meeting, the Conrad Grebel University College Board of Governors was pleased to announce the four year extension of the term of President to Susan Schultz Huxman, commencing July 1, 2015.

John RempelConrad Grebel University College will be offering an intensive Theological Studies course on “Baptism: Ecumenical Perspectives,” taught by John Rempel, May 19-22, 25-29.  The church of Christ can’t agree whether infants can be baptized or only those who confess a personal faith. The biggest reason for this is that each side has a different view of the church.

Family reunions at the old homestead, prime ministers glad-handing across the countryside and nurses serving during the Vietnam War. These are just a few of the photographs found in the new Mennonite Archival Image Database (MAID), giving the public access to photographs of Mennonite life in Canada and around the world. Seven Canadian Mennonite archives contributed 80,000 archival descriptions to the new site at . Over 10,000 of these records are already accompanied by scanned images.
