Grebel Students bring The Music Man to Life

100 university students. 200 hours of rehearsal. 3 performances. 76 trombones.

Every two years, Conrad Grebel University College students band together to launch a completely student run musical 鈥 a true community building endeavor. This year鈥檚 show is The Music Man by Meredith Wilson, and involves students across every faculty at the University of 蓝莓视频, from first to fourth year. Even as they approach the end of term crush of final projects and exams, these driven young adults are pouring their talent and energy into directing, producing, and performing.

鈥淚鈥檝e been absolutely amazed by the effort and energy put forth by all those involved in this show,鈥 reflected Ren茅e Serez, co-director of the musical. 鈥淓veryone from production to pit band to cast have been dedicated to making this show the best it can be. I鈥檓 so proud of the joyful, energetic, delightful show we鈥檝e ended up with.鈥

To everyone鈥檚 pleasure, the Grebel production of The Music Man has sold out and has a waiting list of eager audience members. Students will perform on March 24 and 25 at the Conrad Centre for Performing Arts in Kitchener.

This weekend, the Grebel community is looking forward to seeing the result of so much hard work. And in the paraphrased lyrics of the Music Man townspeople, they鈥檒l be glad they 鈥済ave Iowa a try!鈥
