Approximately 2.5 million Canadians living with a food allergy, researchers say. Adults reported a slightly higher prevalence of food allergies (7.7 per cent) than children under 18, who came in at 6.9 per cent.

Steve Wilcox, PhD Candidate in English at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ will do a demonstration of his web-based digital game to GoHelP lab members on Monday November 09. Players of Allergies and Allegories take on the role of a food-allergic child who is transferring to a new school. Players work to build friendships, strengthen support networks, and establish safe and supportive spaces, providing them with a practical understanding of food allergies and their risks.

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Daily Bulletin and The School of Public Health and Health Systems (SPHHS) recently profiled Kristin Brown's work on mandated physical activity in Ontario elementary classrooms.

Professor Susan Elliott, Francesca Cardwell, Kristin Brown and Andrea Rishworth were on hand to represent the GoHelP lab at the 16th International Medical Geography Symposium in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

George Atiim, a PhD Candidate in the department of Geography and Environmental Management and GoHelP lab member, is departing this week for Ghana  in order to carry out his PhD fieldwork. George's research explores emerging health challenges of food allergy in sub-Saharan Africa.
