The Urgency of Social Justice
We are inviting University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ faculty, staff, and studentsÌýto join us inÌýThe Urgency of Social JusticeÌýevent betweenÌý11:00am and 2:00pm on September 20, 2023, in and around the Arts Quad. The purpose of the event is to build awareness and broader support for social justice activities, programs, services, and advocacy groups atÌýUÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵÌýand in the local community. The event will kick off a year-long series of activities hosted by the Gender and Social Justice (GSJ) program. While centred in Arts, we are excited to broaden and deepen the conversation about social justice in our campus community and are inviting participation from across UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and from regional advocacy and support groups. The event is being organized by a group of colleagues, including staff, faculty, and students, with leadership from GSJ.ÌýÌýÌýÌý
The event will include short speeches or performances by colleagues and advocates, poster displays, tables for on-campus services, community groups, and academic programs, music, entertainment, and refreshments.ÌýÌý
