Our Story

À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering Outreach began operations in the fall of 1990 when it started as Engineering Science Quest (ESQ) by two À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ undergraduate students who saw a similar program at another Canadian university. Taking what they saw to À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, they ran their first camps for grades 5 and 6 students in 1991 and reached 200 students.

Since then, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering Outreach has expanded substantially, to build on the success of ESQ to create hands-on STEM learning opportunities for youth in spaces where they are comfortable, building confidence and curiosity. Our ESQ programs have grown to be recognized as a leader in Science and Engineering camps in Canada and we now offer multiple summer camps for youth entering grades 2 to 9.

Our team now offers an extensive array of opportunities ranging from camps, clubs, community events, and workshops to reach all youth in grades K-12 in hands-on learning experiences. For the last three years, we have reached over 30,000 youth annually in our programs.
