This multi-disciplinary event is open to students from the Faculties of Science and Engineering, in any year of study. Students from science and engineering will collaborate to solve pressing real-world problems from the nuclear industry.
The Canadian Nuclear Labs Innovation Challenge is aÌý2-day event, jointly held by the Engineering Ideas Clinic and (CNL), and is a great opportunity for students to work on real problems from the nuclear sector while improving their technical and professional skills.Ìý With a mix of software and hardware available, all students will be hands-on developing and testing their solutions.
Experts from CNL will be on hand to introduce a real problem they face in their nuclear industry before students are let loose to solve the problem over the course of the next 2 days. CNL will return at the end of the weekend to judge student designs and give feedback on how they could be improved.
Prior programming knowledge is helpful, but not required; tutorials will be provided to help students learn the necessary technical skills to succeed. This event is welcoming to all, and is designed soÌýthat all studentsÌýhave a fun, and meaningful learning experience.
The next scheduled Challenge will be held in October 2025.
