Global honour highlights excellence in wireless research and international collaboration
Dr. Catherine Rosenberg, a distinguished professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, has been awarded an Inria International Chair by the . The five-year appointment recognizes her exceptional leadership in wireless communication and networks.
Inria is globally renowned for its cutting-edge work in digital science and technology. With over 3,800 scientists working across 220 project teams—many in partnership with top research universities and industry leaders—Inria fosters a bold culture of innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and entrepreneurial risk-taking.
As an Inria International Chair, Rosenberg will collaborate closely with Inria’s AGORA project team in Lyon, France. AGORA focuses on 'Wireless Networks for Digital Cities,' contributing to key challenges in data-collection wireless networks. Their work addresses issues such as deploying dense and flexible networks in dynamic environments, rethinking communication protocols for IoT systems, and enabling in-network data processing to reduce traffic and enhance data quality—advancing the infrastructure needed for smart, connected cities.
Rosenberg’s work promises to advance the science behind next-generation networks—networks that will power smart cities, autonomous systems, and the global digital economy.
Through this prestigious Chair, Rosenberg continues to elevate the impact of Canadian research on the world stage, reinforcing À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s commitment to knowledge, innovation, and research that transforms lives and shapes the future.
