This year, theÌýPeninsula Bruce Trail Club’s 13th Annual Hike Festival will feature hikes around the Bruce Trial in TobermoryÌýand a variety of seminars, including a talk by Peter Russell. The Earth Sciences Museum is showing two displays at this event;ÌývibrantlyÌýcoloured mineral samples, andÌýBurgess Shale fossils.Ìý
Peter Russell's talk Hiking the Red Rocks of Arizona will be at 7pm on September 30th, and our mineral displays will be available to viewÌýFriday though Saturday at theÌýNational Parks Visitors Centre in Tobermory.Ìý
The London Gem & Mineral Show will have vendors selling minerals, fossils, and jewellery. In addition, the event will host seminars and workshops about earth science and jewellery making.Ìý
The Earth Sciences Museum will be providing hands-onÌýeducational activities for kids at this event on Saturday November 19th and Sunday November 20th.Ìý

The Peter Russell Rock Garden was created along with the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ's Earth Sciences Museum, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year! Join us for a tour around this beautiful oasis on campus. Through our discussion of various rock specimens from around the globe that make up the rock garden, you'll learn about the history of Earth, mines and minerals of Canada, and unique rock structures of Ontario. If we're lucky, the wisteria will be in bloom, too!
