ݮƵ wins at CASE District II awards
by Advancement Communications.
The high-calibreprograms and hard work of staff across campus was on full display in 2017 as ݮƵ recently was awarded five international. These awards recognize outstanding print, multimedia, marketing, communications, events, and program development.
The largest of the eight CASE districts and including international institutions,is an organization of advancement professionals in the areas of alumni relations, communications, and philanthropy.
It was a successful year for the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences, taking home three awards:

- SILVERfor Best Video Feature for Recruitment Videos: Faculty of Applied Health Sciences personalized recruitment videos
- 鰿ܷfor Best Annual or Institutional Report:Health in 3D: Applied Health Sciences Impact Report(designed by Creative Services):
Also celebrating a win was the Office of Advancement and Marketing and Undergraduate Recruitment:

- GOLDfor Best Student Recruitment Individual Piece:(designed by Creative Services)
Awards will be handed out at the annual conference on February 25-27 in Washington D.C.

Worlds Challenge Challenge applications open
Applications are now open for the.
The World’s Challenge Challenge at the University of ݮƵ is a competition that invites teams of three diverse students to pick one of theUnited Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals(also known as Global Goals), and propose a solution. Teams will be selected for interviews occurring on February 14, and six teams will be selected to make a 5-7 minute presentation on March 1,proposing a solution to a panel of judges, with Q&A.
Each member of the winning team will win $1,000 (each member of the 2ndand 3rd place teams will win some awesome electronics), and the winning team will move on to compete against other schools at the International World’s Challenge Challenge from June 3-8, held at Western University in London, Ontario.
Applications open today and will close on Saturday, February 3 at 11:59 p.m.

Senate meets today and other notes
The University's Senate has its first meeting of 2018 this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in NH 3407.
Among the agenda items:
Senate will givea second reading and a vote to proposed bylaw changesrelating to the removal of the Associate Provost, Resources position and its replacement with Deputy Provost, Integrated Planning and Budgeting as it appears in Senate Bylaw 4, the bylaw relating to the naming ofadditional ex officio members of Senate of the University of ݮƵ, and in other bylaws (1, 2, and 3). Additional cleanup involving the former position titles of general counsel and associate provost, graduate studies will also take place.
There will be amotion to approvethe 2018-19 calendar dates.
There will beseveral motions to approve new diploma programsin Mathematics and Environment.
Senate will be asked toapprove proposed admission standardswithin an articulation agreementfor the Honours Bachelor of Arts, Honours Arts and Honours Bachelor of Arts, Social Development Studieswith Conestoga College Institute of Technology.This agreement allows eligible graduates of the one-year General Arts and Science Certificate or the two-year General Arts and Science Diploma at Conestoga to transfer into the Honours Bachelor of Arts, Honours Arts or Honours Bachelor of Arts, Social Development Studies.
Senate will considera motion to approve revisions to the Faculty of Environment's constitutionthat bring the Faculty’s constitution in line with other Faculty constitutions by updating the provisions relating to Faculty Council and its committees, including modifications to membership rules and procedures.
