The following services can help you understand copyright and how to make copyright-protected materials available in your class.
Services
Course Reserves (Library)
Course reserves is a service that works with instructors to make course readings available to students in either paper or electronic formats.
Course Reserves staff will evaluate requested readings based on whether the material requires permission to use, is subject to a Library license, or a Copyright Act exception applies. Staff will seek permission from rights holders where necessary and the Library will cover copyright clearance fees, within reason. There is no cost for this service to students or instructors.
More information is available on the Course Reserves for Instructors page.
Centre for Extended Learning
The Centre for Extended Learning (CEL) supports the design, development and delivery of online credit and non-credit courses. If you are developing an online course with CEL, their Copyright Specialist will help clear copyright in the materials for your course.
More information is available on the Centre for Extended Learning: Copyright Guidelines page.
