It is with great pleasure that theÌýConrad Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology CentreÌýannounces the appointments of Marc HurwitzÌýand David Rose as Lecturers at Conrad. We are thrilled to add Marc and David to our faculty as we expand our undergraduate programming to include the Entrepreneurship Option in Engineering.Ìý
Marc Hurwitz
Marc is a successful entrepreneur currently running his second business, , and hasÌýconsiderable corporate experience in human resources, information technology, finance and marketing.ÌýHeÌýhas coaching experience with student entrepreneurs fromÌýÌýand at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he taught for twelve years.
In his role at the Conrad Centre, Marc will teach BET 300: Foundations of Venture Creation, and a new course for students in the Enterprise Co-op program, BET 310: Enterprise Co-op Entrepreneurship Planning and Execution.
Marc previously taught in the School of Business and Economics at Laurier and holdsÌýaÌýPhDÌýin cognitive neuroscience (University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ) and graduate degrees in business (Laurier), applied mathematics (University ofÌýGuelph), and theoretical physics (McMasterÌýUniversity).
With his partner, Samantha, Marc co-developedÌýthe Generative Partnership® Model – a blueprint for peak performance and more collaborative leadership, partnerships and workplaces. He has written a book on leadership that is expected to be published in March 2015.

David Rose
David joins the Conrad Centre from Wilfrid LaurierÌýUniversity where he developed the course "Managing the Growing Small Enterprise." David has been an instructor and mentor to students throughout his career, supporting case study competition teams, acting as a Faculty Advisor for student groups likeÌýEnactusÌýLaurier, and supervising over 30 independent research projects, to name a few examples.
As a Lecturer at the Conrad Centre, David will continue to teach : Principles of Entrepreneurship, and will teach a new course for Engineering students who are pursuing the corporate entrepreneurship track of the Entrepreneurship Option, BET 320: Introduction to Commercialization Management.
David has held a variety of corporate and entrepreneurial positions, including various consulting, marketing, and self-employed roles. Members of David's extensive network frequently lend themselves as guest speakers in his courses.ÌýAs a lecturer atÌýLaurier, David has been recognized by students as theÌýSBESSÌýFaculty Member of the Year (2013/2014), the Honorary President of the School of Business and Economics (2001, 2003, and 2004), and theÌýWLUÌýStudent Union Professor of the Year (2003).
