Co-operative and Experiential Education launches ݮƵWorks updates to improve job search and application based on student feedback
We’ve heard your feedback and made enhancements to ݮƵWorks’ job search and application functionality!
Changes to search and apply experience on ݮƵWorks
-
We’ve launched a new appearance across all ݮƵWorks job boards to provide a better user experience for searching and applying to job postings.
-
You can now set up to three default résumés on the Full-Cycle Service board, save postings into customized folders, browse jobs in a new card view and much more.
-
If you had previously created saved searches and alerts, these have been removed as part of this upgrade.
Since 2017, ݮƵWorks has been the primary recruitment tool for posting co-op, alumni, graduating and part-time job opportunities.
Over the years, ݮƵWorks has added new features including booking appointments for career guidance, registering for employer information sessions, reserving study spaces on campus and integrating EDGE milestone tracking.
Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) continually gathers feedback about the user experience on ݮƵWorks, primarily through the Co-op Student Experience Survey. This feedback, combined with focus group consultations across faculties, led to the following ݮƵWorks enhancements in winter 2025:
Update | Description |
---|---|
Set up to three default résumés on the Full-Cycle Service board | You can now upload up to three versions of your résumé to highlight different skills for various jobs/industries. |
Smoother process with pre-screening questions | For jobs with pre-screening questions, you can use your default application package to apply, making the process faster. |
Upload documents while applying for jobs | Upload documents while you are completing the application without exiting the application process. |
Improved keyword search |
Updated keyword search options for you to easily include, exclude or search specific words. Note: Looking to filter out SWPP eligible jobs? We recommend using the “None of these words” with the keyword “SWPP” and saving your search criteria. |
Create up to 10 custom folders to save jobs |
Organize your jobs in up to 10 different customizable folders. This allows you to sort jobs in a way that makes the most sense for you. Note: Looking to quickly shortlist jobs? We recommend creating a custom folder called “Shortlist” and saving jobs there to sort through later. |
Open job descriptions in one window | Preview job postings in one window to prevent timeout issues in multiple open tabs. |
Quick preview while applying for jobs | View the job description while completing the application without exiting the application process. |
Option to display jobs in card mode | Provides different options for you to view jobs in the standard table mode or card mode. |
Live application count on the application page | View how many applications you have remaining in every cycle of the recruiting term. With increasing application limits each cycle, it’s now easier to keep track of how many jobs you have applied to. |
Reorder/resize job search columns | Prioritize fields that matter the most to you in your job search. |
Updated dashboard appearance | The home page of ݮƵWorks highlights important information relevant to your job search. |
Removed the ability to archive grade report or work term history | Since these are both generated by the system, we’ve removed the ability for you to accidentally archive these documents which would prevent you from applying to jobs until resolved. |
Branding and colours | Updated colours to align with ݮƵ brand guidelines. |
Requests we didn't implement and why
Requested change based on feedback | Rationale for not making this change |
---|---|
Bulk applications | Every employer has a unique set of skills and requirements they are looking for in your application. You should read each job description carefully and tailor your application package to highlight your skills that align with the job. |
Mass “Remove from Search Results” (previously known as “not interested”) | You should consider each job carefully before removing it from your search results. |
Save individual search settings | Saving individual search setting requires significant storage and saving cookies. |

ݮƵWorks was developed by a third-party vendor, Orbis Communications, in partnership with the University after careful consideration and an extensive request for proposal (RFP). We communicate any system improvements and enhancements to Orbis to develop and implement.
