Changes coming to co-op hiring cycles this fall
Co-operative and Experiential Education
Get ready for a smoother and more flexible recruiting process.
Changes are coming to the way we manage our recruiting cycles starting this fall. These updates are designed to improve your experience, give you more time to make decisions and better align with employer hiring to get more jobs opportunities in front of you. Here's everything you need to know:聽
Why the changes?
We鈥檙e making these changes in response to feedback from students and employers. Recent surveys and consultations highlighted the need for more time in the recruiting cycle and better support for decision-making. We heard from students like you that you wanted more predictability, more time to make decisions and didn鈥檛 want cycles to end too early.聽
What's changing?
There are several changes that will be implemented this fall, including:
- Number of cycles - there will now be three cycles each term, with matches occurring:
- The Friday immediately before reading week (fall and winter).
- The middle of the third month.聽
- The final Friday of the third month, followed by a direct offer period.聽
- Postings - continuous postings will begin the day after the cycle 1 match and will be posted for two business days.
- Interview days聽- more interview days and in-person availability for on-campus interviews.
- Ranking time聽- you will have 48 hours to complete your rankings before each match.
- Not Interested (NI)聽- the number of allowable 鈥淣ot Interested鈥 responses will increase from 5 to 10, giving you more flexibility in managing your opportunities.
