Sam Fairburn (they/them) is a fourth-year Honours Biochemistry student in the Faculty of Science. Sam shares their diverse co-op experiences across government, industry and academia fields. They also discuss their most recent work term where they had the opportunity to contribute to the discovery of novel phage defense genes.

Callie Sweet (she/her) is a second-year Arts and Business student majoring in Communication Studies. Callie shares her work experiences at in corporate reputation and executive communications, highlighting her hands-on experience with emerging technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

Rachita Khetan (she/her) is a Global Business and Digital Arts (GBDA) student in her 3A term. She is an international student and discusses her top tips for navigating co-op for other international students.

Saarth Rajan (he/him) an international student studying Honours Mathematics in his 2A term. He discusses his experience living, working and making connections in small town Alberta.

Jarett Dewbury (he/him), a third-year Engineering student majoring in Biomedical Engineering, is the Faculty of Engineering Co-op Student of the Year for his outstanding contributions at the Tadesse Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Kennedy Taylor (she/her), a fourth-year Arts and Business student majoring in Legal Studies, is the Faculty of Arts Co-op Student of the Year! She received this award in recognition of her dedication and innovative work integrating AI into health care at Coeus Health.

Linda Wang (she/her), a third-year Computer Science student, is the Co-op Student of the Year for the Faculty of Math! Her incredible work at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) played a pivotal role in developing one of the company’s first generative AI (GenAI) use cases in human resources (HR).

Michelle Kao (she/her), a third-year Physics and Astronomy student, has been recognized as the Faculty of Science Co-op Student of the Year for her outstanding contributions at the National Research Council, Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre. Michelle is also the 2024 winner of the Experiential & Work Integrated Learning Ontario (EWO) Co-op Student of the Year.
