Climate Speed Hack

Come race against the clock to find innovative solutions to climate challenges!

Open to all UW students, regardless of technical background. NO TECHNICAL BACKGROUND REQUIRED!

Rapid version of a hackathon, participants will be teamed up at the event and work together to ideate, research and brainstorm solutions to problems in climate change, climate adaptation, reducing GHGs, and generating climate hope, all in 3-hours.

Climate Change Planning, Projects, and Pathways at the City of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.

Join the City of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµâ€™s Strategic Initiatives division as they outline the City’s integrated approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change. This talk will cover a high-level overview of the City’s strategic plans and positioning in this space, as well as a deeper dive into their recently approved . Understanding our feelings about climate change: Impacts on our health

How we feel about climate change is really important - so we need to think about it and measure it. There are a lot of words being used to describe how we feel about climate change: worry, anxiety, eco-anxiety, decreased well-being, and so on. This talk will be lead by Susan Elliott, Professor of Geography and Environmental Management. Susan Elliott's research interests are environment and health, the global environment, urban social geography,and philosophy and method in the social sciences.
