Capstone goes online in Spring 2020! Prof. Adil Al-Mayah and Prof. Nadine Ibrahim are teaching the Fourth Year Civil Engineering Design Project - Phase 1 (CIVE 400) this term, and wanted to thank all faculty who are serving as technical advisors. There are 32 teams in total, all of whom have found technical advisors to support and offer guidance toÌýtheir design projects. A number of groups are working on modular construction of hospitals and clinics - motivated by the present situation! Here's a photo collage of some of the groups in the first meeting on Teams. The next big innovation to hit the marketplace could be among the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ student projects on display at the annual Capstone Design symposiaÌýbeginning March 16.Ìý

Senior-year engineering students at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ will exhibitÌýprojectsÌýranging from a technology that reduces agricultural water waste through intelligent irrigation systems to a device that may help people with Parkinson`s disease avoid falls.

UW Civil Engineering Student Receives Gates Cambridge Scholarship

A Civil Engineering grad (BASc 2013) has recently received one of the most prestigious international scholarships available. Musa Chunge was awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship where he will be pursuing an MPhil in Engineering.

There was intense competition for the awards with over 3500 applicants and 51 scholarships offered.Ìý The selection criteria consist of:

A team of four environmental engineering students took first placeÌýin Task 3 at theÌý22^ndÌýAnnual International Environmental Design Contest hosted by theÌýWERCÌýConsortium and theÌýÌýat New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
