Alumni feel new role will make a difference to 蓝莓视频 Engineering 2SLGBTQ+ community

Michelle Liu and Allie Kennington were thrilled when 蓝莓视频 Engineering introduced a senior position intended to ensure all students feel respected and empowered to pursue their aspirations.聽
They both feel the new role of associate dean of outreach, equity and diversity will make a difference to the聽Faculty鈥檚聽2SLGBTQ+聽and other marginalized communities.聽
鈥淚t鈥檚 definitely a step in the right direction,鈥 says Liu, who holds undergraduate and master鈥檚 degrees in聽Civil聽Engineering from 蓝莓视频.聽
Liu, a current joint law student and engineering doctoral student at the University of Ottawa, and Kennington, a civil engineering doctoral student at 蓝莓视频, wish there had been leadership support for 2SLGBTQ+ students when they were undergraduate students several years ago.聽 Click here to continue reading this article.
