À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ welcomes visiting scholar Prof. Bertram Kuehn, from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, in Giessen, Germany. He will be working at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ this coming fall with Scott Walbridge on a collaborative project investigating several issues surrounding the problem of design against brittle fracture in steel bridges. He brings to this project a wealth of practical experience and previous research, which has contributed to the establishment of the brittle fracture design provisions in the relevant Eurocodes. His visit will be partially supported by a University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ IRPG Program grant and by funding from the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC).
