We're here to help. That's our purpose at the Centre for Teaching Excellence. Ìý
How do we do this? By aiming toÌýinspire teaching excellence, innovation, and inquiry at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. By advancing effective teaching and learning practices through collaboration, leadership, and capacity building. And by promoting an institutional culture that values effective teaching and meaningful learning.Ìý Ìý
In this annual report, we present highlights of our work from the 2023-24 fiscal year, underÌýthree main themes: supporting faculty development; promoting student engagement; and meeting ongoing andÌýemerging needs.
We also provide—in our CTE at a Glance section—data about our annual participation and participant feedback that provides a snapshot of how you've engaged with us.
Finally, in our On the Horizon section, we outline our areas of focus for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Ìý
We're especially proud of the signature programs, activities, and resources that we've developed over many years:
-
our workshops for instructors and staff that promote educational development;
-
our LITE grants and the annual University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Teaching and Learning Conference that support the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning;
-
our annual Instructional Innovations Week;
-
our Fundamentals of University Teaching program and Certificate in University TeachingÌýfor graduate students;
-
our multi-day workshops such as the Instructional Skills Workshop and the Teaching Excellence Academy;
-
the curriculum eventsÌýwe facilitate for departments and programs;
-
our repository of 160 Teaching Tips which receive more than two million views each year. Ìý
And I am very proud of our CTE staff members who dedicate themselves to our work. As I said, we are here to help, and we value the many partners who work alongside us to promote and support teaching effectiveness at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Ìý
