The Biomedical Engineering Program is proud to announce the winners of the Ojala prizes from the 2022 Capstone Design Symposium.
Biomedical Engineering (BME) students Ethan Chung, Jeffrey Feng, Evandros Kaklamanos, Joey Kuang and Timothy Seto won $10,000 at the annual Norman Esch Entrepreneurship Awards for Capstone Design event held online on March 31. Their project, Petalos, also earned $3,000 as the winner of the Sedra People's Choice Award.
This week Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) students presented their fourth-year design projects at the 2022 Capstone Design Symposium. Teams showcased everything from a seizure monitoring and detection headband for infants to unique tools that can help Canadians optimize their energy usage.

The Faculty of Engineering recently announced the recipients of the Winter 2022 First in Class Engineering Scholarships and Undergraduate Research Assistantships.
First in Class Engineering Scholarships (FICES) are funded by the Dean of Engineering and awarded to the top continuing engineering students.

Last week fourth-year Biomedical Engineering (BME) students participated in an “Investigathon”. This hackathon-style event asked student teams to solve an engineering investigation problem. The winning team members, Yun Kim, Natasha Willis, Shaylin Smallegange, Madeleine Nolan, Maya Pavlova received $100 gift cards for their hard work and innovative solutions.
