SymphyotrichumÌýlanceolatumÌý(Willdenow) G. L. NesomÌývar.latifoliumÌý(Semple & Chmielewski) G. L. Nesom occurs in full sun to partial shade in thickets, edges of wet deciduous woods, margins of streams, and ditches in Canada and the US (Brouillet et al. 2006;Ìý). Leaf blades are broadly oblanceolate (not much reduced in inflorescences) and the margins are usually serrate.Ìý It is the more southern race ofÌýSy. lanceolatum. The variety is hexaploid 2n=64.
