Solidago petiolarisÌý±¹²¹°ù.ÌýpetiolarisÌýis the only variety of the species native to the southeastern U.S. east of the Mississippi; its range is disjunct in scattered populations in eastern Texas.Ìý The lower stem leaves can have serrations, but these are smaller than those ofÌýS. buckleyi.Ìý Upper stem leaves are nearly lacking serrations.Ìý Its phyllaries are usually moderately strigose and sometimes also glandular.Ìý Stems are moderately densely short villose-strigose.Ìý³Õ²¹°ù.ÌýangustaÌý²¹²Ô»åÌý±¹²¹°ù.ÌýwardiiÌýoccur west of the Mississippi.Ìý Ranges of distribution are shown on theÌýS. petiolarisÌýpage.
