Pityopsis graminifolia var. tenuifolia

Pityopsis graminifolia (Michx.) Small var. ³Ù±ð²Ô³Ü¾±´Ú´Ç±ô¾±²¹ÌýSemple & Bowers is the small headed diploid race that occurs throughout much of the range of the species in the southeastern United States.  It has been treated in the past as Pityopsis microcephalaÌý³§³¾²¹±ô±ô,ÌýHeterotheca microcephala (Small) Shinners, Chrysopsis graminifolia(Michx.) Ell. var. microcephala (Small) Cronquist,ÌýP. graminifolia var. microcephala (Small) Semple,ÌýHeterotheca graminifolia (Michx.) Nutt. var. tenuifolia (Torr.) Gandhi & R.D. Thomas, and Pityopsis tenuifolia (Torrey) Nesom.  It tends to bloom earlier in the fall than var. latifolia.  The variety is diploid (2n=18).  ).
