Olympic Mountain Aster

Doellingeria paucicapitata (Robins.) Semple, Brouillet & G.A. Allen is native to open rocky slopes on Vancouver Island, where it is very uncommon, and the Olympic Mountains in NW Washington (). The species is distinguished by its white rays, stems that are pilose or sparsely to moderately glandular-pubescent, and phyllaries that are lanceolate-linear. The species is diploid (2n=18). It is closely related to E. paucicapitatus (Allen 2006 FNA, Allen et al. 2019).
