Award Description: À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ AI Institute Graduate Scholarships, valued at $5,000, will be awarded each year to graduate students registered full-time who are conducting research under supervisors affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Interested students must sign up for the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.AI Grad Mailing list to qualify as an applicant. The deadline to apply is 12:00 pmÌý´Ç²ÔÌýMonday, March 18th, 2024.
Value:Â $5,000 - Three scholarships valued at $5,000 each will be awarded annually.
Eligibility & selection criteria: Graduate students registered full-time in a master's or doctoral program who are conducting research under supervisors affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Selection will be based on academic achievement (minimum 80% cumulative average in their current program) and demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence and data science (in the broadest sense including but not limited to foundations of AI; applications of AI: and social, ethical issues, and implications of AI). A committee including the co-directors of the Artificial Intelligence Institute and other members of the Institute will select the recipients in the winter term.
Level:Â Masters, Doctoral
Program:Â Open to any UW graduate students from all faculties, studying in AI or Data Science.
Citizenship:Â Canadian/Permanent resident, International/study permit student.
Deadline:Â Monday, March 18th at 12:00 PM (EDT)
Application format: Applicants are to email (i) a completed application form, (ii) a supporting letter of a maximum of two pages describing their expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and (iii) an unofficial transcript in PDF format with the title: Title_First Name_Last Name to À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.AI's Managing Director, Harold Godwin (hgodwin@uwaterloo.ca) by 12:00 PM on March 18th.ÌýPlease submit as one PDF document.
