Dr. Jimmy Lin, professor of computer science and co-director of the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Data & AI Institute, is successfully bridging academia and industry through his AI startup, Yupp, which recently emerged from stealth with $33 million in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. Yupp enables users to explore over 600 AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini, providing valuable feedback to developers. Lin operates a À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ-based research hub for Yupp and aligns this work with his academic research to foster mutual innovation. His success reflects the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s strong support for researcher entrepreneurship, including ownership of intellectual property and robust startup resources.
