Dr. Jimmy Lin, professor of computer science and co-director of the À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Data & AI Institute, is successfully bridging academia and industry through his AI startup, Yupp, which recently emerged from stealth with $33 million in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. Yupp enables users to explore over 600 AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini, providing valuable feedback to developers. Lin operates a À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ-based research hub for Yupp and aligns this work with his academic research to foster mutual innovation. With prior experience at Twitter and Primal, Lin values real-world impact as the true measure of research.
